Privacy Policy
This policy explains how VidyaGlobe collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use the website, accounts, learning features and related services.
Scope and overview
This Privacy Policy applies to the VidyaGlobe website and the features operated through it. We collect only the information reasonably needed to provide learning services, maintain accounts, understand website usage, protect the platform and support advertising or payment features when enabled.
Some features are optional. For example, precise GPS location is requested through your browser and is collected only if you choose to allow location access.
Information you provide
Depending on the features you use, you may provide information such as:
- Name, email address, mobile number or other account/profile information.
- Login, membership or subscription information.
- Messages, correction reports and support requests submitted through contact forms or email.
- Transaction or payment reference information needed to verify a purchase, refund or subscription.
Full payment-card or banking credentials are normally processed by the applicable payment provider and are not intentionally stored by VidyaGlobe.
Student analytics, device and usage data
To operate and improve the learning platform, VidyaGlobe may automatically record technical and usage information. This can include:
- A randomly generated browser/visitor identifier.
- IP address and an irreversible IP hash used for analytics or security purposes.
- Browser, operating system, device category and, where the browser provides it, device model/platform information.
- Screen size, browser language and time zone.
- Pages or notes opened, referring page, first/last activity time, approximate active time and page-view history.
- For signed-in users, the WordPress account ID, display name, email address and an existing profile phone number where available.
Automated crawlers, bots and common performance-testing tools may be filtered from student analytics where technically possible.
Learning progress, live statistics and protection signals
VidyaGlobe may process learning-progress and aggregate/live-statistics information to show or operate features such as available-note counts, subject progress, recent updates and general platform activity. Where a progress feature is based on website content rather than an individual learner, the displayed value may be a platform/content statistic rather than a personal profile.
Premium-content and security features may also process technical signals needed to enforce access rules, reduce unauthorised copying or automated misuse, protect membership content and investigate abnormal activity. These controls are used for platform security and access management; they do not change the ownership of information you provide.
Location information
Approximate location from IP
VidyaGlobe may use an IP address to estimate an approximate city, region/state, country, internet service provider or network information. IP-based location is not precise and may show a nearby or major city instead of your actual location. To perform this lookup, an IP-geolocation service provider may receive the IP address needed for the lookup.
Precise GPS location
If your browser or device supports geolocation, VidyaGlobe may request permission to access precise location coordinates. GPS latitude, longitude and the accuracy value reported by your device are collected only when you affirmatively allow the browser location request. If you deny permission, location is unavailable, or the request times out, the website can continue to work and may fall back to approximate IP-based location.
Precise GPS information collected by VidyaGlobe student analytics is used for internal website/visitor analytics and administration. We do not intentionally send precise GPS coordinates to Google AdSense for personalized-ad targeting. You can withdraw future GPS access at any time through your browser or device site-permission settings.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain and improve notes, learning tools and website features.
- To identify signed-in users and manage accounts, memberships and subscriptions.
- To measure genuine website activity, popular content, performance and engagement, and to operate learning-progress or live-statistics features.
- To respond to support requests, corrections and payment-related queries.
- To prevent abuse, automated misuse, fraud and security incidents and to enforce premium-content access/protection rules.
- To maintain service records and troubleshoot technical problems.
- To display and measure advertising where advertising services are enabled.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce website policies.
Accounts, subscriptions and communications
If you create or use an account, VidyaGlobe may maintain account identifiers, profile details, membership/subscription status, premium-access state, session information and related service records. If a registered profile already contains an email address or mobile number, authorised administrators may use those details to contact the account holder for legitimate service, support or learning-related communications.
We do not obtain a visitor’s private phone or WhatsApp number from an IP address, GPS location or browser information.
Advertising, Google AdSense and advertising cookies
VidyaGlobe may use Google AdSense and/or other advertising partners. When advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve, limit, personalise and measure ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to VidyaGlobe or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to VidyaGlobe and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can manage or opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings.
- You may also learn about choices for certain third-party advertising cookies at AboutAds, where applicable.
Where legally required, including for certain visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, an appropriate consent-management message may be used to obtain or manage choices for advertising cookies and personal-data processing before relevant ad features are used.
Data retention
We aim to keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, security, support, accounting or legal requirements.
- Current live-visitor records, which may include the latest IP and permitted GPS coordinates, are designed to be automatically removed after approximately 2 days.
- Student activity/event analytics are designed to be automatically removed after approximately 90 days.
- Account, subscription, support, payment-reference and legally required records may be retained for longer where necessary to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse or meet legal/accounting obligations.
Backups, caches or third-party systems may retain limited copies for an additional period according to their normal technical or legal retention cycles.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, misuse or loss. Access to detailed student analytics is restricted to authorised WordPress administrators. However, no website, network or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
VidyaGlobe provides general educational and exam-preparation material and may be used by learners of different ages. Children and minors should use the service with appropriate parent or guardian supervision and should not submit unnecessary personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should be reviewed or removed, please contact us.
